I have a HP inkjet printer so I know that I can't use normal paper but I don't have time to buy the special paper needed. I would just transfer words from a newspaper but they come out backwards which I don't want. Can someone help me out because I'm clueless as to how I can transfer words the right way onto wood. I don't have time to buy special paper and my best source is the newspaper.
Lay a piece of transparent paper on top of the newspaper, trace the outlines of the letters with a felt tip pen -> flip the transparent paper and rub the back with charcoal or a soft pencil -> place it on the wood, charcoal site down -> trace the outline of your letters with a dry ballpoint pen pressing down hard - that should get your letters transferred to the wood and now you can fill the letters with any paint you want. I'm an artist using this method ever once in a while...:-)
