how to interpret my driving perf. score sheet?

i failed it but yeah,
what does it mean if they circled a number and put a slash through a zero?

It sounds like you're in Calif. The driver evaluation sheet has numbers 1-8 across the top representing the intersections. Every minor mistake made is represented by a slash mark through the 0. The right and left turns ( 4 of each) are likewise represented by 1-4.
To understand the minor mistakes, simply follow the description across to the slash mark. That represents specifically where it occured. Most of the errors are for "traffic check." If you turn the score sheet over, there are explanations of the shortened terms.
You are allowed 15 minor mistakes and NO critical errors.
If you failed, one of the eight "critical errors" is noted and a very detailed explanation is written out.
A note here - believe it or not, DMV examiners in Calif. WANT you to pass. Every driver means more tax dollars. Don't think for one minute you are being singled out. Calif. has one of the EASIEST drive tests in the country. Ask most driving instructors and they'll tell you it needs to be toughened.
