need help in starting a hat business?

i live in maryland.and people here go to church.there is no were in salisbuary to buy nice hats.how do i get started in a hat business?do i start from my home?if so then were do i buy hats from?or how do i go about getting started? thanks

I'd suggest finding suppliers from out of the area (run a search on Yahoo or Google). Then find out if any local clothing stores would carry your products. Start selling through them first to keep your costs down and see how popular the hats are. If things take off, consider opening a store. If they do well but not well enough to have a store, don't open one. Opening stores is expensive and a lot of work.
