in your price range there all made in Asia, Squires, Epiphones, you name it, and all about the same quality, not very good. but as a beginner you really wont know the difference anyway so don't worry about it. however with the money you save take it to a shop for a set up. have the intonation checked, bridge height and truss rod adjusted, and while your at it have them put a nice set of strings on it, nothing too fancy maybe some Ernie Ball Slinky's, probably run you around $40 to $50 depending the shop, it will make a big difference take my word for it. as far as the name on the thing goes you can start worrying about that when you learn to play the dirt out of it, let me know when you want to step up to a Gretsch or high end Fender, I can be a little more help.
